If, using your analogy, you do want to have a 'marriage' then nobbystiles.com is perfectly fine and would be the norm. Having 'ltd' in as part of it is unnecessary, cumbersome and stinks (to me) of naivety and inexperience.
There are however .ltd domains if you do really want to get the ltd into it - ie. xxxxxx.ltd rather than .com . As long as you can prove ownership, you can get the relevant domain.
Personally I think you'd be better with a .co.uk. By far the most widely recognised in this country.
